When Immigration Agents Come to Your Door

When Immigration Agents Come to Your Door

It is not unheard of, and in fact often happens, that immigration agents come knocking at a person’s door at, say, 4:00 in the morning, or when least expected. What generally follows is distress, panic and confusion in the household, with everyone searching for answers as to what to do next, after a loved one has been taken into custody.

At this time, it will probably occur to someone to contact an immigration attorney, which they will do with undue haste and little time to check the credentials of the person they are hiring.

Such a scenario can, and should be avoided, by having consulted an immigration attorney beforehand, explaining the particular situation involved, and perhaps even retaining that attorney for a reasonable amount of money, to be available to receive your call when agents come and to let the agents know that the person has legal representation.

This is certainly a better way to deal with that early morning knock on your door.

Before you or a loved one has this happen, contact the attorneys at Garcia & Miranda, PA today!
